Swiss German Customs
Swiss German is the most widely spoken language in Switzerland. When in a Swiss city or hiking in the Alps, you may notice the Swiss custom of greeting one another with "En Guete" before a meal. This phrase is the Swiss German equivalent of the French "Bon appétit."
